Chef Angus An
Chef Angus An is a graduate of New York’s French Culinary Institute, where he trained under legendary chefs including Jacques Pépin, Alain Sailhac and André Soltner. After graduation Angus worked with Norman Laprise at Montreal’s Toqué, then moved to London, where he trained in Michelin-starred restaurants including The Ledbury, The Fat Duck, and Thai restaurant Nahm. At Nahm Angus met his wife and now business partner, Kate, and they returned to Vancouver to open their first restaurant, Gastropod, which eventually gave way to award-winning Maenam. In 2013 Angus opened the casual street-food restaurant Longtail Kitchen. Menus at both restaurants are directed by both Angus and Thai-born Kate, who travel to Thailand on a yearly basis to discover new dishes and gain inspiration for Maenam.
